Explain:
During the war in Vietnam, the American military allowed the press to access to combat zones and document the war. From 1962 to 1975, they record many photographs about the U.S military in Vietnam War. Nowadays, a lot of the photographs’ image are located at the National Archives and these photographs can help some people who want to know more about the Vietnam. So these photographs were not only document the war, but also to capture images for the historical record. Though the photographs you can image the solder and the photographers suffered many hardships. And you can understand the war’s circumstances. Every photograph have a story and involve many kids of people’s life, who worked in the war.

Home is where you dig” was the sign over a fighting bunker, 1968.
There are three solders sit on the ground, and behind them there is a sign that says,” Home is where you dig.” Obviously, this is their another home to live in the war. In order to avoid the enemy more easily to find them, their roof is very low and covered with a lot of branches to cover up themselves. From the picture, we can image these three solders maybe in garrison position or waiting for the order to fight. the solder is sitting in the middle of them and writing something. Maybe he was writing the diary to record his experiences on the battlefield,or writing a letter for his family to tell them that everything is good.

The sun was sinking and the solders also stopped the fighting. Several solders was sitting together, one of the man was playing the guitar for his comrades. Only this time belong to themselves. However,everyone was very heavy expression. In order to the country more powerful and safety, they left the home. Maybe when they join the war, they never go home to see their wife,children and parents, so this song made them missing families; or they were missing those comrades who died in the battle.

There are some soldiers carry a wounded comrade through a swampy ares. You can see this swamp is very deep, everyone’s legs were submerged. Although move forward very difficult, they never leave their comrade, everyone are cautiously move. From this phenomena, we can understand at that time every soldiers looks like blood brother. They help each other and never give up.
